The Avaya IP Office Digital 30B V2 Station Expansion Module offers support for 30 additional digital phones on your IP500V2 or IP500 system. They can be either Nortel heritage digital phones or Avaya digital phones, but you can't mix them on the same module.
  • Add up to an additional 30 digital phones to your Avaya IP Office System
  • Expanded your IP500V2 Controller
  • Operates in DS or BST mode on IP500V2 R9.1 SP12, R10.0 SP5 and 10.1
  • Operates in DS mode only on IP500V2 R9.1 SP12, R10.0 SP5 and 10.1
  • Not supported on releases not listed above
  • Supports 9500, 1400, 5400, 2400 Digital Phones
  • Supports T7100, T7208, T7316/7316E, T24
  • Supports Global M7100, M7208, M7310, M7324, KLM (9 Contrast Levels)
  • DS and BST phones CANNOT be mixed on the same module
  • Offers 30 RJ45 ports

how do i change the settings on the module from nortel phones to a use 1400 series avaya phones

A: 
The IP500 Digital 30B V2 modules can be changed between DS and BST mode in Manager.  Select the expansion module, change the Operating Mode and hit OK.  The system may reboot when you save the configuration.
